Attorney Surette received her B.A. from Purdue University in 1988 and received her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2001. She was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 2001 and before the United States Supreme Court in 2010. Attorney Surette joined Lax & Truax, LLC as an associate in 2001, and became a partner in January 2009.
She is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Section), Connecticut Bar Association (Family Law Section), and Co-Chair of Fairfield County Bar Association (Family Law Section).
Attorney Surette regularly serves the Connecticut Superior Court as a Special Master in family cases in the Stamford, Bridgeport and Milford Courts. Attorney Surette has presented continuing legal education in Connecticut entitled “Family Law Litigation in Connecticut”. She is also a trained mediator through the Quinnipiac University School of Law, Center for Dispute Resolution.
